Who is the course aimed at?
An Appointed Person is nominated by an employer to take charge in an emergency situation in the absence of a First Aider.
This course is suitable for the smaller company with low risk hazards where it is not necessary to provide a fully qualified First Aider, or where the workforce requires additional First Aid cover.
Course Format
Course delivery is a combination of video presentations, lectures and practical demonstrations along with candidate hands-on participation.
Course Objectives
The course is based around Emergency Life Saving Skills. At the end of the course candidates will understand:

the priorities of the First Aider;

asphyxia and hypoxia;

the methods of resuscitation;
-
how to treat the unconscious casualty;
-
the effects of shock and blood loss;
-
how to recognise and treat heart attacks;
-
the common workplace injuries and conditions.
