Technical Training Course: Inspection, Testing & Certification of Electrical Installations: C&G 2391: NICEIC: UK Ireland Channel Islands

Technical Training Course

Inspection, Testing and Certification of Electrical Installations (C&G 2391)

Course No: 106

    3 Days + Assessment

Who is the course aimed at?

Electricians, installers and testers who are required to test fixed, electrical installations and those wishing to meet the requirements of 'self-certified' Part P schemes. Candidates should possess the City & Guilds 2381 qualification in the current edition of BS 7671 (IEE Wiring Regulations).

Certification

This course results in the award of the City & Guilds 2391 certificate which is in 2 parts:

• written exam component (2391-01) - exam dates scheduled by C&G

• practical assessment component (2391-02) - scheduled by test centre.

To achieve the full 2391 certificate, successful completion of both components is required.

Course Presentation

The course is delivered in 2 parts (106-01 and 106-02), designed to prepare candidates for the C&G 2391 the written examination and practical assessment separately. This delivery format has helped us achieve extremely high candidate success rates.

Theory component (106-01). This is a 2-day event programmed to coincide with the forthcoming City & Guilds written exam dates. This part of the course thoroughly prepares candidates to sit the written 'closed-book' exam. In particular, candidates will be able to apply and manipulate formula to calculate the values required and understand the requirements and wording of typical examination questions. Example questions are used supported by the opportunity to experience a mock examination.

It is highly recommended that the Practical component of the course (106-02) is completed before attempting this theory component.

Practical component (106-02). This is a 1-day scheduled event followed by a ½-day practical assessment arranged on a date to suit the candidate. The emphasis is on practical application of testing and inspection procedures. Participants are able to carry out testing on purpose built training rigs using a wide range of test equipment. Full course documentation is provided.

It is important to note that access to practical assessment is not restricted by City & Guilds exam dates. This means that candidates can take this part of the course at almost any time and then take the theory part at a later date.

Practical assessments can even be arranged separately without necessarily sitting any part of the course. This is only recommended to those who hold a current 2381 certificate and are well practised in electrical testing and, are up to date with current procedures and test values.
