This course has been designed to meet the Health & Safety requirements regarding hydraulically-operated equipment and provides personnel with the necessary skills, knowledge and understanding to apply safe working practises when working with hydraulics.

Who is the course aimed at?

This course is ideal for those who work with or around hydraulic equipment, such as maintenance personnel, equipment operatives and plant supervisors.

Course Objectives

Successful candidates will demonstrate competence in:

  • the application of safe working practices when working with hydraulic systems
  • understanding the principles of hydraulically-operated equipment together with basic underpinning knowledge of flow pressure and force
  • understanding the purpose and operation of components commonly used in industry (pumps, manifolds, control valves, check valves, rams, cylinders and motors)
  • understanding hydraulic symbols and reading basic hydraulic circuit diagrams
  • correctly assembling and operating basic hydraulic circuits

Certification

Successful completion of the course leads to the award of a L.I.T.S. Ltd competence-based certificate.
